Sooty tern (Onychoprion fuscatus), Booby Island
The sooty tern is a seabird of the tern family (Sternidae). It is a bird of the tropical oceans, breeding on islands throughout the equatorial zone. It does not plunge dive to catch food like most other tern species. It swoops low to catch small fish and squid from the surface, primarily at night.
